Peter Strong is the Customer Business Leader on the Mars Wrigley Confectionery Digital Commerce Team. Peter and his team of dedicated associates partner with leading retailers to accelerate confectionery sales online. With a multi-billion dollar portfolio of iconic global brands that include M&M’S®, SNICKERS®, SKITTLES®, STARBURST®, ORBIT® and ALTOIDS®, Peter leads the charge at Mars Wrigley Confectionery to be digital first, and to be a value added thought leader in the space.
With over 10 years of food industry experience, Peter began his career as a sales representative with Kraft Foods. Through the next several years, Peter took on a variety of roles in category leadership and account sales across several customers. Towards the end of Peter’s time at Kraft Heinz, Peter led the sales organization in creating an integrated sales planning tool that incorporated event creation and execution, pro forma modules, and it linked directly to finance and demand planning to establish a single source of truth for the organization.
Peter moved onto Meijer, a mid-western grocer in a role to lead the marketing and business aspects of standing up a click and collect model at Meijer called Curbside. During this time, Peter led the construction, finance, operations, and marketing efforts to make it a successful service. Peter was also a key player in bringing Shipt as a partner for last mile delivery.
Peter holds an Undergraduate Degree from Northwood University triple majoring in Advertising, Marketing, and Business Management and earned his Master’s Degree at Davenport University with a concentration in Strategic Management.
