JAK inhibitors are being used for an increasing number of autoimmune inflammatory conditions. Unlike biologics which target a single cytokine, these oral medications target multiple inflammatory cytokine pathways with demonstrated outcome improvement in people with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and atopic dermatitis (eczema). There are some key considerations regarding this class of agents that pharmacists should know when counselling patients. This highly practical session will provide pharmacists with the information they require to educate and monitor patients taking this class of medication.
