Eczema or atopic dermatitis is a common and chronic condition with recurrent flares. It can cause self-consciousness, emotional stress, and affects mental health, in addition to impacting daily activities and lifestyle during flares. With number of costly new therapies have been approved for treatment, and existing prescription therapies and OTC options, Pharmacists are at the forefront to help patients manage this condition. Pharmacists can help navigate the options, using OTC products where appropriate and are at a triage point to refer a patient and provide recommendations. Pharmacists are in the best position to help patients as they return to the pharmacy for treatments to manage the disorder, providing advice between flares. This session will help pharmacists engage with patients and guide decisions in stocking products in the pharmacy.
