With growing emphasis on the need for non-narcotic, opioid-sparing, multi-modal management strategies for acute pain conditions, nonprescription analgesics play an important role. This session will focus on the need for proper pain assessment, individualizing analgesic therapy, and providing appropriate counselling for young, otherwise healthy adults to optimize health outcomes. We will explore cases highlighting how pharmacists can facilitate the safe and effective use of evidence-based self-care options for pain.
