With the legalization of cannabis and the changing perception of cannabis among older Canadians, it is expected that seniors will become the largest patient demographic. Opinions about medical cannabis in the medical community continue to evolve as empirical evidence demonstrates both its clinical benefits and potential risks. Pharmacists need to understand these factors when considering medical cannabis therapy for their older patients. This session will focus exclusively on seniors living in independent, retirement, or long-term facilities, and key factors to weigh when considering therapy for this group.
