Michael Kani is a practicing community pharmacist and owner of Michael’s Pharmacy in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and a consultant to the Community Pharmacy Professionals Advancing Safety in Saskatchewan (COMPASS) program where he educates and trains pharmacists on safe medication practices. Michael completed his pharmacy education at the University of Waterloo, where he also received a BSc in Biomedical Science. During his time at the University of Waterloo, Michael participated as a student representative on the Board of the Canadian Pharmacists Association and on the Board of Directors for Traverse Independence, a not-for-profit organization funded by the Ministry of Health to support individuals with Acquired Brain Injury and disabilities to live independently. Michael is passionate about advocating for pharmacists scope of practice expansion, including the education, counselling and dispensing of medical cannabis.
