This session will focus on the use of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RA). Concepts that will be covered are: Who should be on a GLP-1 RA? What do we need to consider when starting a person on GLP-1 RA, including adjusting insulin and other blood-glucose lowering agents? Sample recommendations to the diabetes health-care team will be reviewed. The presenter will balance the evidence-based Diabetes Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines with actual patient stories in community pharmacy to share practice tips.
