Samier Kamar is the pharmacist, manager, and owner at High St Guardian Pharmacy in Peterborough, Ontario. He is currently a Professor in the Registered Pharmacy Technician program at the School of Health and Wellness, Fleming College, in Peterborough. He was also a faculty member, as the clinical instructor, lead for medication therapy management courses, at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. He has been a speaker and keynote at the Pharmacy U national conferences in both Toronto and Vancouver. Samier is a PharmD graduate from the University of Toronto. His interest in finding innovative ways to serve his patients and community led him to be an early adopter of the gotodoctor telemedicine platform in Ontario as well as one of the first in Ontario to gain access to Connecting Ontario through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as part of the initial pilot program. Samier is also heavily engaged in health advocacy work with refugees and Canadian newcomers, along with unattached patients, working to ensure that they can better navigate and access health services and prevent them from slipping through the cracks of our healthcare system.
